About [h]all media an Autobiographical glimpse of Charles Hall

I have worked in the general field of media arts now for 18 years in nearly every capacity and environment from small to large agencies, to retail, and even your local newspaper. I hail from the first generation to be raised predominantly around computers. I cut my creative teeth in elementary school on the amazing Apple II by learning the BASIC programming required to plot large rectangular pixels on the green screen. I've been a fanatical Mac advocate ever since. I taught myself countless versions of every major production application and have been the help desk to many other designers through most of my professional career. I owned the very first consumer digital camera which cost a small fortune even by today's standards, and has since been put to shame by many cheap web cams and even a LEGO toy camera. Essentially I have come to find myself on the binary side of the digital divide. Additionally in my diverse background, I have owned or managed businesses, installed and administered computer networks, been published in many magazines, photographed and travelled with rock stars, designed and built furniture by hand, remodelled a house, repaired every type of major and small appliance, provided pro-bono services to charitable organizations, and am presently raising and home-schooling my 2 amazing children. |
