The ideal candidate would be enthusiastic and warm; has strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; and has excellent social skills and experience in welcoming and working with children and parents. We are looking for candidates with Waldorf teacher training certification, a Bachelors of Arts degree, and teaching experience.
The Detroit Waldorf School is seeking an experienced Foreign Language Teacher for the upcoming 2012-2013 school year. Candidates that are fluent in languages such as: Arabic, Chinese, and German will be considered. Experience teaching elementary and middle school-age children is required. Knowledge of Waldorf Education or Waldorf teacher certification is preferred. Knowledge of songs, storytelling, games and cultural activities, as well as exercises in conversation, reading, writing and grammar is fundamental for this position. The successful candidate will have a good rapport with students, excellent communication skills, ability to work independently, enthusiasm for language and culture, and open to suggestions and new ideas.
